A dramatic scene & moment, Charlotte! Interesting mix of colors. Like the muted dunes & deep blue. f/l

I thought this place presented one of the most interesting places for photography. When I was there years ago, I still was shooting a film camera. The hike to the top of those dunes was a pretty difficult one I remember. L/F

Thanks for your comment Scott. It was the first time for me to visit everything past Midland Tx up through Alamosa, Silverton, and up to Yellowstone and back through Bryce, Zion, The Grand Canyon and the painted Desert. It was all amazing. The weather system that moved over Alamosa presented the dunes in a very interesting pattern/contrast made by the falling rain. Thanks for your visit
